Inès De Borbón‘s paintings encourages the viewer to get lost in shades of blue inspired by the canals of the Venetian Lagoon. Painted with a strong emotional connotation, Inès depicts in the blue a single wooden stick that serves as a guide in the exploration of nuances.
“When, crossing the lagoon in the radiance of the sun … I saw the most beautiful, most vivid painting of the Venetian school. The dazzling sunlight, enhanced the colored spots, and the shaded parts were so bright that they in turn could almost count as lights. The same was to be said of the sea-green water reflections. Everything was painted clear on clear, and the foamy wave and sparkles that flashed there were the indispensable finishing touches.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, 1786
