Le Zoie, Venice
14.11.2024 – 27.03.2025
The exhibition “Gold is God” by Michele Dal Bon was inaugurated in Venice, celebrating the masterpieces of sculpture with the majesty of gold. Dal Bon’s works, cubist reinterpretations of iconic sculptures, are enriched with 24-carat gold leaf, which not only beautifies but also symbolizes the divine, creating an atmosphere of sanctity and spirituality.
Among the works on display, highlights include “Nike – Νίκη,” a reinterpretation of the Nike of Samothrace, “Golden Thinker,” a reinterpretation of Rodin’s The Thinker, and “Amore e Psiche – φιλία,” which explores spiritual union through gold. “Golden Pietà” transforms the classical sculpture, giving it new life through the interplay of light that enhances the gold. The project is inspired by Venetian culture and Dal Bon’s connection to Cubism.
“Gold is God” is an evolution of the artist’s previous work, “A Marco,” and is part of a journey that links gold to his family’s memory and his artistic research.
