“100 Ways to Live a Minute,” Pushkin Museum

Il Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow launched a new online project titled “100 Ways to Live a Minute,” emerging as a creative response to the period of isolation. This project has become an online archive where artists, collectors, and historians share their experiences and works in dedicated sections.

During the project, artists reflect on how to manage time meaningfully, especially in the context of self-isolation, which is common among creatives. Artists, writers, and philosophers often find personal ways to engage with time through their daily lives. The Pushkin Museum’s project explores this form of creative idleness and provides insights into meaningful ways of experiencing time.

The project, characterized by its openness and research-oriented approach, features exclusive content from international artists such as Shirin Neshat, Irina Nakhova, Shi Zheng, and Guido van der Werve.

It is divided into three main sections:

  1. “MEDIA QUARANTINE”: Artists and curators share their methods for managing time.
  2. “TIME: CATEGORY OF CONTEMPLATION”: Artists, curators, and researchers discuss artworks that explore themes such as the dilation of time, contemplation, and solitude.
  3. “DIGITAL EXCHANGE”: Exclusive broadcasts of works by prominent international media artists.
